"Administrator" User Authentication failed

Hi All,

I have installed NW 2004s SR2 successfully. However, when I am trying to log into the system in order to carry out administration activities with user Administrator, it is saying that:

authentication failed.

Though I do remember the password for the same user properly. However, can anyone please tell me how to log into the system using this user Id?

Hi,

If you have a abap+java installataion then use j2ee_admin and the master password which you gave during the installation. Else use administrator.

If your administrator user id is locked then activate sap* and then change the password for administrator.

Then deactivate the sap*.

Hi Vamshi,

Yes its abapjava. Therefore, as you suggested, I have used j2ee_admin user and could access.So, do you confirm that if its abapjava we should use j2ee_admin user else administrator user?

Hi,

Yes Always ABAP+JAVA has the user id j2ee_admin and always the stand alone java system has Administrator userid.
