Feedback on WD ABAP tutorials would be appreciated

Hello everybody,

we have produced a number of examples for WebDynpro for ABAP a while ago. These examples are available for download at <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/developerareas/abap?rid=/library/uuid/02e1fa45-0801-0010-10a0-f1cf47e8c943">web Dynpro for ABAP</a>.

We would like you to give us any feedback, whether you have used them or not. In the first case we would like to know how you think about them, in the latter case it would be interesting why you did not use them yet, or if you plan to do so.

Contribution of points now closed.

With kind regards,

Manfred

Hi Manfred,

I've tried the first three tutorials "Web Dynpro for ABAP". Together with the Sneak preview it's a very good step by step training to become familiar with this new technique. It's very nice from the SAP to support us developers in this way without any costs.

My plan is to go ahead with the other tutorials. Additionally I'm going to buy the new german Web Dynpro Book for ABAP from SAP Press, which is announced for April 2006.

Regards,

Stefan

Hi Manfred,

I am through with most of the tutorials that's been published in SDN for WebDynpro ABAP & the information provided in all these tutorials are really useful.

The Step By Step approach helps us understand the actual flow ..Great support after publishing the Sneak preview version of 2004S .

One small suggestion, Since the entire development happens in the ABAP side the first thing that comes to my mind is that whether an existing SAP Dynpro transaction can be migrated to an WEB Dynpro transaction. It would be great if you could share some info on this regard.

Hi Srivathsan,

as of SAP NetWeaver 2004s, a pure design time conversion tool which allows the reuse of the layout of an existing screen is part of Web Dynpro for ABAP. The Dynpro design time conversion generates Web Dynpro for ABAP view metadata from the screen sources of an ABAP program. It is a pure design time tool and does not provide any runtime support for the generated Web Dynpro for ABAP objects, in particular, converting flow logic of the screen program and calling ABAP modules is out of scope.

Documentation is available at the SAP Help Portal under http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/30/f2156a26fb4b4d86c5b0ce9f86bfb3/frameset.htm.

Hope this helps,

Hello,

We have just install the Sneaky version and train us with the first four tutorials.

I think they are very good. I like the step to step approach because I'm a great beginer in developping Web application. And you also explain the most important concepts of WebDynpro it's important -even if I cannot understand-

I just saw there are new ones and I will test them immediately. I hope there will be a lot of others ones in the future.

Thanks for helping newbies.

WebDynpro for ABAP is great!

Hi Manfred,

I have done ~half of them and found them very useful. I hope the number of tutorials will increase!

A negative point: Tutorial 1 and 2 are in my opinion redundant. But to have your own template(for fully understanding) for the other tutorials you have to do Tutorial 2 after Tutorial 1.

Kind Regards,

Marcel
