When to use DB Connect

Dear Experts

Thanks for opening my thread, my R/3 and BI both servers are having linux operating system and DB2 DataBase in this case, should i use DB connect to extract R/3 data ? plzz help me in this regards

Hi,

in case you are dealing with R/3 and BI (you didn't mention, but I believe your BI is SAP too) there is no need of DB connect of UDConnect. Just add your R/3 as source system to your BI and you are fine.

No. You just need to setup a link between R3 and BI system for data exchamge(source system creation etc). For DB connect uses, refer this:
