Customised document numbering

All,

I would like to create document numbering (for each document type) as -

<document type prefix> + YYYY + MM + <Numeric Sequence which resets to 1 every month>

Though I dont have issues on how to create this particular format, I am wondering how to get the numeric sequence reset to 1 starting every month.

Ideas ?

Your solution is a good workaround. But the document number needs to show on the document, not on the printout.

Do you think, the document numbering setup can do this ?

To get the numeric sequence reset to 1 starting every month, you can define a 'Sequence' for a document.

To access this window, choose Administration -> Setup -> Finances -> Tax -> Sequence.
