Hi

I have installed SQL Studio 7.4.

To create new session, looks like I have to provide the following information.

-Server:

-Database:

-User:

-password:

Our SAP database repository resides in Oracle database.

Here is my question.

1. What the server name means here ?

Is it a database server or the application server. ?

2. What is the database name ? I think, I have put the database in the tnsnames.ora ? Am I correct ?

3. UserID: Is it application user id or database user id.

Appreciate your help.

thanks

siva

Hi,

I'm not very familiar with Oracle, but I'm wondering why you want to use SQL Studio with Oracle? Isn't there any tool from Oracle to access the database?

Beside I'm not sure if this is going to work for you or if SQL Studio is able to connect to Oracle database at all. I doubt it. As far as I know SQL Studio is only available for MaxDB.

Hello,

if we talk about MaxDB SQL Studio it is like André said. MaxDB SQL Studio was designed to work only with the database SAP MaxDB.
