Do you have the appropriate entries in your services file?

ex.

sapdp00 3200/tcp

sapgw00 3300/tcp

You can even try adding

sapms<SID> 3600/tcp

Hi Shafi,

On the server console, please start the SAP MMC console. Does it show green for the SAP system processes? In the task manager, do you see multiple processes called disp+work.exe ? Is your database running? Please sort on the folder /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS00/work by latest files, and attach some of the latest trace files here.

Thanks,

Sanket

yes, I see multiple processes called dsip+work.exe

Could you please tell me which files in the Work folder should I send you?? there are many files. Please give me your email address, so that I can send these files to you.

Pls try this.

  • on Command prompt , ping sapxidev. see if it returns IP address of your server.

  • what is the system number for the SAP system installed? Goto /usr/sap/<SID>/dvebmgs<nn>

if the nn is 00, then it is 0, if it is dvebmgs01, then your system number is 01.

Your saplogon should show the correct system number.

  • on command prompt, type telnet sapxidev 36nn ( where nn is your system number ). If you get a blank screen that just sits there, that is a good sign. If you get error, please tell what error you get.

  • logon to your server as <sid>adm user. on command prompt, run executable dpmon. Choose options m, then p.

Do you get a list of work processes in status waiting?

Thanks,

Sanket

Please check:

- Is your system really up and running

- Is your system really running on 192.168.0.153

- Is this address really reachable from the client (firewall settings?, network problems?, etc.)

check wehter NSP node is green

if you have installed on the local machine (without network) as per installation guide you should have installed MS loopbck adapter and mentioned IP address 10.10.0.10

in the windows/system32/drivers/etc hosts file maintain the IP for your computer name

follow the steps explained in the below given link

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=236869

Once it is installed you have to set the ip address to 10.10.0.10

Go to Control Panel Network Connection

Right click on the new Microsoft Loopback Adapter Connection

A new window will appear

Click on Internet Protocol TCP IP

Click on Properties

Input the Address as 10.10.0.10

now modify your host file to point this ip to your computer name.

hi Raja

1. I didn't find any host file in my System. I have only a file with the name WINNT\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts. the contents of this file are

127.0.0.1 localhost

Note: I also added the Ip of my server and hostname but still it did not work.

2. my connection parameters are

<b>Description</b> test

<b>Application server</b> sapxidev (i.e.the host name of the server )

<b>System ID</b> XI2 (i.e. SID)

<b>System No.</b> 00 (i.e. Central Instance No.)

add a entr in hosts file

10.10.10 sapxidev (this is the computer name)

connection parameter for NSP

System ID has to be NSP

Raja
