What's the default password of user sap* in a new client in NetWeaver2004s?
I installed NW2004s and created a new client. But when I logon on with user id "sap*" and password "pass", it doesn't work.

1. If the user sap* does NOT EXIST in the specific client follow the procedure of Raja
2. If the user sap* EXISTS in the client and the password was not already changed then the default is: 06071992

is there any signifiance to the date (06071992) . was it the date on which sap* user id was created!

yes I also think there is a mystery behind this date. But to be honest I don't know the details.
Hmmmmm, as far as I remember 1992 was the year of
- officially introducing R/3
- 20th anniversary

you have to set
login/no_automatic_user_sapstar to 0 in profile parameter
transaction RZ10.
the pass word PASS will work after changing the profile and restarting the server.
