HI,

Services are used to:

u2022Represent a technical or business unit, which is to be addressed as the sender or receiver of messages.

u2022Group interfaces to exchange messages according to particular task areas.

u2022Address business systems and business processes as senders or receivers of messages.

The Service is used to group interface objects when the Landscape is not described in the System Landscape Directory (i.e., for a Partner System).

Business Service represents an abstract ,addressable unit.Business services are used in cross company processes.Using business service ,you can define the technical or business subunits of the companies involved and then assign them the relevant interfaces.

Business system:

Business systems are logical senders or receivers that exchange messages by using the Integration Server and that are entered in the System Landscape Directory.

The business systems in the System Landscape Directory relate to a system landscape. The business systems of business partners are therefore not entered in the System Landscape Directory. To be able to address such business partners logically, use communication components in the Integration Directory. A business system is a way of specifying a communication component in the Integration Directory more precisely (business system component).

A communication party represents a larger unit which is involved in a cross-system process (for example a company).

HI

Business System: BS is a conceptual representation of a logical system, such as a specific client on a SAP server or a 3rd party payroll application.

Business system addresses a specific (Application) system in the SLD as a sender or receiver of the message. It will have the information about the inbound and outbound interfaces and SWCV.

A Business System addresses a business system as a sender or receiver of messages. Unlike an abstract service, a business system represents a specific (application) system in the system landscape. A business system (service) comprises information about the inbound and outbound interfaces and the software component versions of the business system.

Business Service:A Business Service represents an abstract, addressable unit. Business services are used in cross-company processes, for example, if the parties involved have only published their interfaces and not their system landscape, or it is only partly known. Using a business service, we can define the technical or business subunits of the companies involved and then assign them the relevant interfaces.

Business service represents abstract, addressable units whose actual system landscape is not published or partially known.

SLD: In SLD we save products, software components and business systems for logical level, and technical systems for technical level. We can use SLD to determine which technical systems are installed on our landscape, which of these are assigned to a business system and which products and software components are installed in this system.

Business System and Business service

When we talk about Business System, we are talking about those system which have been

defined in the System Landscape Directory, For all our A2A Scenario we generally define Business System.

When we talk about Business Services, we are talking about individual services, that services

could be one of the service of our Business System also. For all our B2B Scenario we genrally prefer

using Business Services. It helps us in communicating with our business partner, without exposing

our (Business) Landscape.

Hi Tushar,

Business System have an entry in the SLD and Buiness Service do not.

Business Systems are used when you are sending data to and from an R3 system and can be of ABAP, JAVA and Third Party Types.

Business System is a logical representation of a Technical System.

Business Service is a abstract representation of a System. For instance, www.yahoo.com have a several system working together and IPs of this machines change eventually. When we use a Business Services like yahoo we reference a computer that we don't know the phisical implementation.

Business Service and Business System difference-

hi,

A business service is an abstract addressable unit just to group the interfaces and can be created in ID .

A business system represents a specific(aplication) system in the system landscape and needs to be imported from the SLD.A business system comprises information about the inbound and outbound interfaces and the software component versions of the business system.

Thanks,

Durga

Business Systems are logical systems which has an entry in SLD.

The system landscape is only partly known in case of Business Service.

Refer these threads, the same topic has been discussed which gives you a clear idea:

Business System identifies a technical system in the land scape. It is defined in SLD. It is used to define communcation channels in ID.

Where as Business service is the one which has no link with any of the technical systems in SLD. it is first time defined in ID and used for defining communication channel in ID.

Hi Tushar,

A Business System is something that physically exists.

Let us assume, you want to download a file from a mainframe, transfer this file with file adapter and put it in an R/3 with an RFC call.

Then the mainframe and the R/3 are your business systems, which do physically exist.

You use Business Service, when the message is not addressed to a Business System in your system landscape. It is used mostly used in B2B scenario, where you don't know the Business Systems of your partner.

We Define bussiness system in SLD and then use it in ID while we define Bussiness Service in ID only .

You can use bussiness system as Bussiness Service always but other way around is not always true .
