Dispatcher is not going to start

Hi All,

This is new installation of ECC 6.0 on SuSE Linux 10 with oracle database. In installing time when spainst is trying to start the sap instance, it is not starting. Dispatcher is not going to start. In work direcotory the core dump generate.

Please any one has clue, tell me for the same.

Hi Tim,

No, even we start manually sap, it dont create the dev_disp in work directory. Here is the content of dev_ms:

Hi Juan,

This is fresh installation and we are installing UC 7 kernel. Even I have replaced the kernel with latest kernel which is available onto market place, but the result is same it is.

Ok, There are 2 issues here. (1) sapcpe is not happy. This means that something is not quite right when startsap attempts to synch /sapmnt/ARD/exe and /usr/sap/ARD/SYS/exe/run. There also must be a log dev_disp somewhere - if the process is spawned, a log file is written.

So, if we cannot find the log files for sapcpe or dev_disp in /usr/sap/ARD/DVE../work, then please check in /tmp/sapinst for the log files (you said this is related to and installation, so the files may be there at the moment).

Can you find these files? Also, would you please check the dev_ms file (I know you said the message server starts OK, but let's confirm). Additionally, what are the contents of the trans.log file when you run "R3trans -d -x" as ardadm?

The answer is there, we just need to find it.

Hi,

Start the SAP instance manually using the executables in the kernel directory(startsap). Also please check if the message server is running.

Hi Buddy,

Thanks for your support. But unfortunetly, only core dump creates when we try to start sap manually from kernel directory. Message server & enque sever starts when we starts sap. Only problem comes with dispatcher.

If the core dumps and the system is not creating any logs Im thinking it might be a kernel issue... maybe you installed the wrong kernel.

So nothing is created in work? Nothing created in the home directory of sidadm? Let's start there....
