When the SCS is used?

Hi.

In Netweaver7.0, there are SCS and ASCS.

When we access the system, we set the address and port of "application instance(called central instance before)" not but SCS or ASCS.

When the SCS and ASCS is used?

If we used "Logongroup", user access(from SAP GUI) will reach ASCS.

But in Java(EP, BI), we access the "application instance's address and port".

We doesn't need know SCS's address and port.

regards,

Hi,

SCS is the instance where java Enqueue Server and Message Server will be running. The java dispatcher will be login to the java message server. This instance is a requirement for the system to run.

If you choose the HA installation, SAPinst installs an ASCS instance (ABAP Central Services) that contains the standalone enqueue server and the message server.

These instances contain services that will be used by the system to run not by the user.

Hi.

Thank you for your replying.

Does the access between SCS and PAS(called CI before) many time?

If so, we had better SCS and PAS in same server.

1 first logon to PAS.PAS access to SCS to get the xxxx infromatiuon.

2. second time PAS processing the transacetion, PAS request to SCS to lock the table ..

and so on...

I want to detail infromation.

Do you know good blog or presentation?
