Hi,

Plese chech the parameter "backup_dev_type" in initSID.sap file that you have not write the value to "DISK". It should be "TAPE".

Hi,

"BR0157E Value '400_PRD_ON_01' of option '-v' longer than 10 characters"

Here is the problem. Tape volume name should not greater than 10 character. Make it like this '400_PRD_01'.

Hi,

Please check the ops$ ,I think the problem in your ops$ user creation .Login as <sid>adm & run "sqlplus /",If you are not connected than the problem in your ops$ user . For more information refer to NOTE-437648 And also check your tape name ,please tell me your tape name & paste your init<sid>.sap file here

[https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=437648]

And if your problem do not solve than please paste the last few line of back<sid>.log.

Hi,

There is nothing wrong. Just see you tape drive is attached properly.

i.e. In AIX

  1. lsdev -Cc Tape

rmt0 Available/Not available?

  1. cfgmgr //Refresh connected devices

If it is available it should take.

Please check and confirm.
