Identify backend server node

Scenario: I log to Portal and goto ESS

I can check which server node I am on Portal by running "javascript:document.cookie" in the browser; is there a way to find out which ECC server node I am on?

I can get this information from IE Watch but was wondering if there is an easier way to identify this.

Thank you for the reponse Martin. I would still like to know if it is possible to get this information at the HTTP header/cookie level.

hi.

i am not sure if you are able to see that. i think you're creating some requests when having an action on portal. if you create new requests you might connect to an other server...

so the server would change permanently.

but i am not 100% sure...

maybe will find something.

have a nice weekend,

martin

You can have a look in SM04 of each server - the portal connection is RFC;

Or you can have a look at transaction code RSUSR000. You can search for the wanted UserId and only have to check, if the terminal id is the portal's one.
