reading barcode regarding

hi all,

i have a situation like, where we scan the Barcode of

material code JDAZ52789 then it reads as JDAZ52789M

or country code DE as DER. can anybody tell me the reason behind this.

Generally if the barcode is of the family C39, it adds a check digit at end.

TO avoid this, you can convert the barcode to C128 family from C39 family.

is there any other way of get ridding of the extra digit. because the requirement is to use only Code39 family.

Than you must use those kind of barcode readers which can read the C39 barcode and remove the check digit.

I don't think, we could do anything in SAP for this.
