We are facing an issue while using batch classification. Batch is defined at client level. Currently we have global batch characteritics assigned to different class. For ex. Characteristic Color is assigned to classes X, Y & Z. We want to control access to the batch characteristics based on the user, Class and other criteria. For ex. an US user can have the below access
- write access to characteristic (COLOR) assigned to Class X
- read access to characteristic (COLOR) assigned to Class Y
- no access to characteristic (COLOR) assigned to Class Z
Is there any standard solution offered by SAP for this scenario. Do you have some suggestions?
TOM
No, nothing standard that I'm aware of Tom.
I usually encourage clients to remove MSC2n from almost everyone. And MSC3n is given to almost everyone. I have never really understood the need to block access to batch display.
Batch changes should come almost exclusively from inspection lots.
I have seen companies make the plant field required on the MSC2n screen. (a mod) Then you can't see or edit the batch unless it has/had inventory in the specified plant and you can use plant authorizations to control.
