You cannot make an assignment to make-to-order stock

Dear All,

I am createing a production order with referece to a sales order ( t-code co08 ).the system is gives the following error.

You cannot make an assignment to make-to-order stock

Message no. CO684

Diagnosis

The component cannot be allocated to an individual stock because make-to-order production and engineer-to-order production cannot be executed with this order.

A possible cause is that you are trying to create an order with reference to a sales-order/project, where an account assignment to a sales order/project is not allowed in the settlement profile that is assigned to the chosen order type. This is inconsistant.

System Response

The following responses are possible:

Order processing is cancelled.

The system resets the special stock indicator back to the original value.

Procedure

Choose another order type.

please give me solution for this problem

Go to OKKP and do the following:-

- Select your Controlling Area

- Double click on "Activate components/control indicators"

- Block the current year and again click on blue lens on top left

- Check the box Sale Orders

Now retry the process to create Production Order in CO08.

Hi there,

Looks like you have taken a wrong order for reference. I guess there is a different order type to process MTO items. I feel that your reference order is different type from that of what you want to create.

Check the order types of both orders & try again.

1.Assign Proper Number ranges to the Order type which u have selected for ur Production Order.

revert back if error comes again.
