Hi Nitin,

Thanks for your reply.

We have tried scenarios MDM and Portal, SRM-MDM

and has also used XI for R/3 & MDM scenarios.

But they are asking for 1-2 life cycle implementation experience. Is there any possibility to get an opportunity

in MDM with no prior life cycle implementation

experience.

I can understand the situation. This is a hard truth that its such a cycle that we only get experience once we get an opportunity and we get an opportunity only when we are experience.

What I will say is that it all depends. Sometimes you may get an opportunity where in you can work under some seniors and gain the project experience. I would suggest you to get into such kind of a project. It has happened with me

Later on you yourself can take up a senior role in a new project.

If still there are no projects, then as I have mentioned you should start working industry specific scenarios and showcase your capabilties to the customers.

Hope it helps.

Hi Netra,

In addition to my above post, I would like to share some domain specific MDM solutions/approach:

SAP NetWeaver Master Data Management 5.5 for Wholesale Distribution:

SAP Network Blog: SAP MDM: An airline industry use case:

There can be many other similar solutions/approach which you can easily find on SDN. This will give you a starting point to work upon.

Its right to say that projects give you real time experience, but if you do not have one, then you have options stated above in my posts.

Hope it helps.

Hi Netra

Full life cycle implementation experience on MDM would only come when you work on projects which involve MDM.

I would like to share this link with you which is really helpful to understand how, when & where SAP Netweaver MDM appear in landscape/scenario practically :[Insight into MDM|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/20c5eb85-f070-2910-6e9f-c8c97cb93638]

Hi Netra,

full life cycle implementation experience.

implementation experience in SAP MDM?

Full cycle implemetation get be achieved by working right from

1) Blue printing phase

2) Data modeling

You will have to identify the systems involved in the implemetation and define the scope of the project. The objective and the business benefits are also important part.

3)Then, comes MDM repository modeling and deifning Validations and assigments. Creation of Workflows for Data Governance. Creation of roles and users.

4) Smooth data flow from the source systems into MDM ( termed as Consolidation ) and other activites as Merging, de-duplication etc.

5) Data then needs to be harmonized back to the source systems with the help of Remote key concept.

6) All the above process should involve vigorous testing and quality measures should be taken care of.

Since you have already learnt MDM and you need to get the implementation expertise, I would suggest you to start working either on any integration scneraios such as

1) R3-Xi-MDM

2)Bi-MDM

3)SRM-MDM

4) EP-MDM

There can be lot many more scenarios possible.

Please refer the links below to get understanding on some of them

MDM Integration Scenario:

The below given blog can be used to understand the XI config done when data is sent back from MDM via XI to R3.

MDM->XI->R3

Apart from the integration scenarios, you can also start working for Industry domain specific scenario where you will address their business problem by using SAP MDM in their landscape. This would give you to get expertise in both technical & functional aspects in MDM.

After doing this implemetation, you can design your own test scripts for security, operation etc with in MDM to test your implementation.

All these steps will give you a fair idea about the real implementation process without even working in a real time project

Hope it helps.
