Batch data transfer from batch classification to inspection lot.

Hi Gurus,

My client requirement is that the results he enters in batch classification should get transfer to inspection lot in QM.The results in batch classification will be maintained by prod. person.

These results should be visible in QM lot and Q.M person should be able change these results and these changed results should get reflected in Batch classification.

for eg.

Production person will enter width in batch classification. for eg 1200mm.This value should be visible to QM person in QM lot and it should be modifiable and if modified by QM person(for eg 1300 mm) , the changed value should be updated in batch classification.

Is this scenario possible in std. SAP and if possible pls. provide the information as early as possible.

thanks in advance.

hi

for that you have to create Batch class in CL01 and then assigned characteristics for ex "Width" in charac tab where system will bring you chara creation save that then assigned same class to your material in classification view and create same inspection characteristic In QS21 by putting your width class characteristics there in front screen. go inside and save.

then assingned that characteristics to your inspection plan when you result recording for your inspection of that characteristic it automatically updates in batch you can see in T code MSC3N. your prduction employee should result record for only one characteristics i.e width. other you should result record

Dear Pravin,

We have done all above settings and we are getting the results transferred from from inspection lot to batch after U.D.but in our case the production person enters the value in batch first and that value should visible in Q.M lot while doing Result Recording.

if this value is not ok then the Q.M person wants to change it in result recording.

We want to know if there any settings in which the values entered in the batch are visible in Q.M lot.

The charateristic will be maintained as batch chara. and as M.I.C.

Amit

Hy Amit,

I don't think there is no any std. settings are there which resolve your issue. But You can do some settings which may gets you closer to resolve this one.First set that Characteristic as Entry Required (CT04).It will force system to throw an warning massage when ever user do transaction over the relevant batches.

Then as our other expert has suggest use that Characteristic as a Link MIC in your Inspection plan.

During Result Recording of that batches on double click on that batch you can see the value maintain for that characteristic. And it will change also as per the Result Recording and value of that link MIC after UD.Concern your Abaper also for any scope of development over this requirement.

My guess is your having a production person perform an in-process test themseleves or entering in a vendor provided value for the characteristic.

Why not just set up a separate operation in the inspection plan for the production person? Set up a workcenter for the operation and do security at that level so the production person can only record against his/her workcenter.

Create a second operation for the lab with there own workcenter. Make the characteristic required for the production operation and optional on the lab operation.

Allow the lab access to both workcenters.

The lab can now review any data enterred by production, and if necessary, record a new value in there own operation.

The UD copies the last recorded result to the batch, (std SAP).

Hi Amit,

Why the production person wants to input the values of characteristics of batch is little confusing as the values will only be known after quality testing of that batch. However if ur business process demands that then u can do this with the help of ABAP person by reading the values from the particular tables & populating those in the inspection lot.

But this will also depend on when the person enters the values & when the inspection lot is generated.

Thanks
