Hi,
The escalation functionality is based on the administrator report RSALERTPROC. This report has to be scheduled as a regular job. The report,RSALERTPROC is necessary for the productive use of ALM. It is responsible for:
· Escalation u2013 The report must be executed, if classifications and categories have to be escalated. If the report is not executed, you are able to activate the escalation option in transaction ALRTCATDEF on the Properties tab, but the alert is not escalated.
Reorganisation u2013 Deletes old protocols and confirmed alerts.
· Multiple notification u2013 With multiple notification the recipients receive several notifications for the same alert, if the alert is not confirmed. The recipients are notified as often as is specified in transaction ALRTCATDEF ® Properties tab ® Maximum number of deliveries. The time interval depends on the report execution interval.
· Log display - The report must be executed, if you want to display logs as spool lists.
In Alert Categories,If you wish to specify an escalation recipient, select Escalation Active and enter the escalation recipient. Also specify a tolerance time in minutes. When escalation is active for an alert category, an alert is escalated if none of the alert recipients has confirmed the alert after this tolerance time. The escalation recipient is also informed that he or she has received the alert because of an escalation.
