IS it always necessary to schedule the RBDMIDOC program in background to generate the idocs ??

or is there any other way to generate the idocs too ?? If there are other ways to generate the idocs

too.......then, when will we use RBDMIDOC progam and when will we use other methods ??

RBDMIDOC is used for creating IDOCs based on change pointers. Change pointers enable you to trap changes in master data and using this program you can create IDOCs for the same.

There are other ways to created IDOCs. For e.g., IDOCs can be generated out of business documents like sales orders, purchase orders etc using output determination (very similar to creating print ouptut).
