Change the password manually of sidadm?

The DB server is down ,

1) check if oraarch directory is ful or not, if full , take a backup and clear the directory.

2) check TNS services

3) On the DB level try to login with the SAP Schema user SAPSR3.

If the schema user is locked unlock it and try again.

Hi Bhupesh,

It seems that the db is down.

Launch the configtool if it doesn't open it means that the j2ee is unable to connect to the db.

Check if the db is available.Start the db and try starting the j2ee.

If it doesnt help,you should look for more detailed error in std* files and defaulttraces files(/j2ee/cluster/server0/log)

Plz check if this helps.

hi tripati,

yes as u told i tried to connect the config tool and it was not connecting.

when i checked the connection of database using r3trans -d it ended with return code 12.

also i tried to start the db from sql script

startup open;

it's showing that the db is already running.

i am unable to find what's wrong with the db.

help needed....

Thats exactly the problem.... the DB is hanging in limbo...

Try stopping your db via sqlplus and start it again.

ORA-01033: ORACLE initialization or shutdown in progress

means that the database is not ready... DB is either shutting down or hanging wwhile starting.

You need to start and mount the DB properly before you can start the system.

Hi There

I want to suggest you to stop the database first and then stop all the services related to sap and oracle especially tnslistener.

And also check your environmental variables where the paths are provided accurately.

then restart the whole system after making changes in environmental variables if possible.

Then start the services and start database manually then try to start your sap.

Hi All,

I did following and problem was solved:

1. /oracle/SID/oraarch dir was 100%, I bought it down to 70%

2. Stopped R3 --> DB --> listener --> cleanipc nn remove

3. Start listener --> DB --> R3

4. R3trans -d (was now ok, see below)

server123:sidadm 25> R3trans -d

This is R3trans version 6.14 (release 700 - 12.06.09 - 15:20:00).

unicode enabled version

R3trans finished (0000).
