Last year we installed an SAP HR system.
We have compared our server main parameters with an other company's:
Our system // Other company
Sap
version: 6.0 // 4.6C
Users: 50 // 50
Number of
employees: 1500 // 5000
Size of
database: 123GB // 50GB
As you can see our database's size is more than double than the other but e.g. we have less employees. Could you please tell me shortly what can cause the high database size in our productiv server?
Hi,
Size is depend on number of component installed and usage.
You are using ECC 6.0 which takes more DB space then 4.6c installation,
check the installation guide for ECC 6.0 so you can identify how much space initially required by ECC 6.0, then after it's depends on DB growth.

Hi,
Are you talking about main features of ECC 6.0?
if yes then
check the release notes for ERP2005 ( ECC 6.0 ) from http://service.sap.com/releasestrategy
also check master guide for ERP2005

Hello János,
- maybe you have compiled (SGEN) more ABAP components than the other company
- maybe the other company reorg their tables periodically
- maybe they have a good archive concept.
There are so many factors for that.

Stefan
