what could be the risks for copying prd010 back to a qas030 environment?

Hello,

We have a 3 tier system land scape with PRD010, QAS010(system test) + QAS030(training), DEV010 (Cust) + DEV020 (Workbench)(SAP R/3 4.7 100 Enterprise, DB6 Database, AIX 5.2 server)

We would like to get the Master, Config and Transaction data, ONLY (using SAP_ALL in SCC9). Using a remote system copy from PRD010 to QAS030.

Are there significant risks in performing a remote system copy from PRD010 to QAS030 (training) that could potentially corrupt our QAS environment?

Here is a list of current risks:

DB size - Can it hold the Prod client data

Time - it might take 5+ hours to perform

Outage Window - This will ahve to be perfromed during an outage window because it could have a performance effect in prod.

Please let me know if you have any good risks.

Thank you,

- Sean

Dear Sean,

There is no risk in remote client copy from production to quality client, before performing the copy try Resource Check option aviable in SCC9 itself(Only in test mode), this will give u brief information about the required space for client copy. If u perform a client copy without locking user this will cause inconsistency in your data in quality server, it needs downtime. to avoid downtime u can perform systems copy of your production to quality server.
