Assigning Materials directly to wbs

Dear Experts,

I wanted to know that if is there any way or alternative wherein i can assign a material to a WBS element and from there i allocate those material to activities which are assigned to my WBS via network or directly.I hope i can get some lead fromyou all.

Hi,

You cant assign material to WBS. As per my opinion WBS is a cost object which plays a role in controlling the project whereas material is part of logistics and rightly should be assigned to network activity which control the project from logistics point of view.

OK i understand that there are limited ways to attach materials to a WBS element i would like to thank all of your for your valuable inputs.

Other than easy cost planning you can not have direct assignment of material to WBS Element. But in case you want to make material purchases and do not want to have network and activities then you should directly create PR against the WBS Element.
