Dear Friends,

We are working with SAP POS system (Triversity). Whenever we open the POS Xpress it is showing the messages like "Please Wait" and then "Store Closed" in the Prompt Box. It is showing the message as "NoDB" above the Menu Box.

Regards,

Jagan.

Hi Mohan

Could you tell me, which Database you are using for POS system?

I too received this error message when i was using microsoft sql database. this error is expected if system not been able to access the database, or If POS SSERVER is not started.

just try this, that should help. it is recommanded to use SYBASE as a DB, its more comfortable and easy to manage.

Cheers

Astricks

Dear Astricks,

We are using Sybase ISQL (Interactive SQL Version 9.0.2) only. POS Xpress Server is also started when the POS Xpress is open. Even it is showing the message "NoDB". Is there any other soution for this.

Jagan.

Hello,

If Pos shows NODB but Xpress Server shows it is connected (if not connected you will see db connections errors in the XPS.log or on the console)

The best way to resolve is to run a Manager Code 6

and select the correct IP address for the server.

Ensure the . are between each octet

sample.

if the POS is on the same box as the xpress server then you can use the local loopback

127.0.0.1 or the actual IP address.

Can you ping the computer with the IP address you entered in Manager code 6 at the POS?

Dear Anthonie,

This is the message we are getting in XPS.log file.

After it is showing "Store Closed", we press enter key and it allows to enter Cashier Number. Then it shows "No Cashiers Logged In, Press Any Key". After press enter key it asks to Select Function and at the same time it shows the message in the Receipt Screen as "Manager Code200 - Log In/Out". If we press F1, once again it asks Cashier Number, Employee Number. After entering the values it shows "Server Not Available, Press Any Key". Also errors are shown above the Menu Box are "Busy, Err, NoDB". Then it asks Cashier Name. After entering the value and press enter, then POS Xpress is closed without any intimation.

How do we give the manager code 6, where we have to mention this and how to run with that? Actually server on the same machine, so that we gave 127.0.0.1. The . is not shown in that POS Xpress. Instead the blank space is shown there.

Hi Jagan,

Not sure if this helps. Try adding the hostname TNXML to the host file and map it with the actual IP address of your machine.

Hi Jagan,

From your post is sounds like you have a default install of the POS.

To up manager code 6 follow the instructions below.

1. Sign on (If you can not sign on create a user in store manager first)

2. enter 6 and hit F8 (or any manager function key define on the pos menu)

Respond to these questions from the POS.

1. Store Number: XX (This number must match the number in XPS controller)

2. Terminal ID: XX

3. Report Group: 1

4. Parm Group: 1

5. Is Thin Server: NO

6. State/Province: XX

7. Local PLU: YES/NO (Setting if you want the PLU to be local or on server only)

8. Primary Server Name: 192.168.1XX.100 (machine with XPS on it or loopback ip if on same machine)

Other work around, delete the state files in poswin/rdata start up the POS. This will make the POS ask for configuration settings. Click on Terminal Define.

Hope this helps.
