Why we maintain payment term(KNB!-ZTERM & KNVV-ZTERM) at two places.
KNB1 :Customer Master (Company Code)
KNVV: Customer Master Sales Data
We can kepp two different payment terms according to the requirement, if the customer is a part of more than one sales area.

Hi,
The 2 Payment terms are maintained one at ccode level and another at sales org level. When both are present, the payment terms at sales org (more specific) level remains valid in transactions. If only payment terms exist at company code level, then this becomes valid.
This functionality araises from the need that if the payment terms are governed at the company code level, irrespective of the product, distribution channel etc, then the payment terms at sales area level can be disabled.
If payment terms at each product/d.channel level needs to be diffferent, then it is enabled at sales area level.
Hope this helps you

It is a usual issue, having to maintain the payment terms in SD view and also in the FI view.
You suggest to disable the payment terms at sales area level. That sounds good, but are you sure it will work in SD?
I always thought that the Sales Order would copy the payment term from the SD view and not access the FI payment term, therefore the "need" in the standard system to fill both data.
