Hi,
Is it possible to search documents using transaction CV04N without TREX installed? I suppose it is possible to search on the document data (document number, document type, ...), but what with the classification data???
Thanks,
Andreas
Hi Andreas,
generally TREX search is only used for fulltext search in CV04N. So the search with all other data (e.g. document data, classification characteristics, object links,...) do not depend on the existence of a TREX server.
So you can always search with classification data in CV04N.
Best regards,
Christoph

Dear Sir
Classificcation will be very useful for searching DIR.
You can assign one class to each document type and make it entry required.
Assign this class to document type in dc10
Now you can search dir using cv04n and char. value assigned in class.

Hi Andreas,
It is not required every time to have trex server, installed for DMS server. If there are not so many documents, TREX is not required to be installed. Documents can be searched thru cv04n t-code.
