Hi I am installing 4.7 on unix/oracle, at the DB instance installation i am getting the following error
FRF-00007 Unable to open RFC connection.
ERROR 2008-08-21 18:40:38FRF-00063 RFC logon failed with message: Connect to SAP gateway failedConnect_PM GWHOST=gbmnso1, GWSERV=sapgw11, ASHOST= gbmnso1, SYSNR=11
ERROR 2008-08-21 18:40:38
FJS-00012 Error when executing script.
Can some one help me to solve the same.
Thanks a lot

If you problem needs a fast solution you should open an OSS call.
Your system is not started, that´s why the RFC fails.

can you do a "ping localhost" as user <sid>adm?
Markus
Hi!
I am a bit confused about your hosts and services file.
Looks like you have lines in your hosts file which should be comments, but these lines doesn't start with "#".
HOSTS(5) manual page (unix) says:
Text from a "#" character until the end of the line is a comment, and is ignored.
Seems your host file is ignored because of wrong syntax.
This would explain why you cannot ping "localhost".
Regards
Thomas

This is due to the fact, that the poster didn't put the "<>" (code) tags around them after copy-and-paste and so the backend system (Jive) is "interpreting" those files instead of just plain posting them. Don't let yourself irritate by that.
