Error Initilizing Database Engine

Hi All,

I have installed MDM on my Laptop and Oracle is the database on my machine But when I am trying to create any repository I am getting Error "Error Initilizing Database Engine" .

Help is required to figure out the problem.

Hi Amit,

Check to see you have followed the below steps correctly when configuring the DBMS .

1)Please make sure that your database and listener is up and running.

2) Create an Oracle lnstance Id and provide the same name when creating the DBMS server in Console. This you should get in same dialog box

3) Then, provide User Id and password to connect to database.

Check the oracle data base Listener configuration

Stop and start the oracle service from the system on which it is installed.

Start->Program->oracle->

After doing this stop and start the MDM service.

Then try performing the above activities.

Hi,

1.Check whether the oracle listener service is started.

2.Check whether the connection between MDM and oracle is fine.

Hi Nisha,

I have installed Oracle 10g on my laptop and it is running file and listner status also shows running.

How to check the connectivity between Oracle and MDM ? Both are on my Laptop
