Forecasting Non Stock Material

Is there a need to do forecasting & planning for Non stock materials in DP & SNP respectively? whats the advantage of forecasting non stock materials in DP ?

For non stock items, can't the PO be generated when the req comes and procured on the fly ?

Will there be a situation where Non stock items are forecasted and sent to SNC-Supply network colloboration

Hi Pat,

Non Stock materials are those that directly get assigned to production requirements as soon as they are inwarded. Hence in effect these are at a level below FG.

If you are carrying out forecasting for the FG then the dependent demand will cover this forecast for the Non Stock material.

So forecasting of these materials will provide you with visibility.

You can generate the PO on fly provided your business orgz allows it to do so.

In effect apart from Quarantine & wating for inspection treatment there is no difference between Stock & Non Stock materials.
