wat is the main role of notifications in QM?

Examples:-
If you have ever came across any Pharmaceutical company. If yes then you woud be know to the process like
- OOS - Out of specification (when material get rejected, the detailed investigation report required to be compiled, notification meets that)
- Similarly we can trigger a notification to incorporate the Deviation,Customer complaints, Post market starvelings etc.
