MTO Item category

Hi All,

Can we create a MMR with out the item cat group as 0001

for MTO process? Bcz I have created the MMR with 0001

and the Strategy group I have used here is 20(in MRP3view)

but system is not picking the item cat for that.Then I have

checked in VOV7 there is no item cat i.e TAK, then I have

checked in VOV4 there was no configuration for the combination with any material type with the item cat group 0001

(I did not find the 0001 at all). So can go for normal item cat group NORM? if so, the item cat will be TAN . Then how will

I know the differance between normal sales order and MTO order? Plz suggest me.

Actually I thought of going with out configuration. Why the standard item cat for MTO (TAK) is missing in the SAP system? So waht I thought was they must be given some other item cat for MTO.

Why should you go in VOV4 Like

O.Type I.C.G USAGE ItemCat ItemCat2

OR 0001 TAN

OR 0001 TAK

hi

goto SPRO> sales and distribution>sales-> sales documents>define item category groups.

here create the item category group 001 for MTO.

in VOV7 define the item category

in VOV4 assign the item category
