Problem With Primary Cost Element Category (Cost planning Vs Settlement)

Former Member

Hi All,

In my Cost planning (CJR2) am using Primary Cost Elements, which has CE Category 1.

Actuals will be posted against the same Primary Cost Elements.

I want to settle the cost to one AUC.

So,In Allocation Structure,

I have created one Assignment & I assigned the same Primary Cost Element as Source Cost Element & I assigned the Same Primary Cost Element as Settlement Cost Element for FXA Receiver Category.

But the system is giving an error that,Cost Element should be in CE Cat 22 for FXA.

If i changed the CE Cat as 22,It is allowing as a settlement cost element in the allocation structure ,but it is not allowing in the Cost Planning CJR2.

So finally, am using one Primary Cost Element for the below three things.

1.Cost Planning (CJR2)

2.Actuals Postings

3.Source Cost Element & Settlement Cost Element in Allocation Structure.

SO As per Std SAP,

For Cost Planning (CJR2),The CE Category should be 1.

For Settlement ,The CE Category should be 22.

How can i proceed with this scenario? Is there any other way out for this?

Kindly post your comments on this.

Thanks in Advance

Suresh

For cost planning as you said the CE type should be 1 and this conflicts with settlement (for settlement to asset the CE type should be 22)

YOU CAN NOT SETTLE PLAN VALUES TO FIXED ASSETS!

I think there's no way out if you use same CE's for both purposes, you need to use different CE's.

Hi Suresh,

There is provision to select the origin cost cost element by tick in the assignment of the Allocation Structure to the right side of the column where you select the receiver type. There is no need to put the primary cost element.

Trust this helps,
