Do you see any danger in using DTR in developmnet scenarios??
AAIK There is no danger in using DTR, it is not just version management there are many things involved in this
right from dev phase to prod phase.

no, I don´t see any danger.
DTR is a stable version management system. You can secure access to it by using ACLs. Transport security is achieved by using SSL.
But you have to keep in mind that working with DTR is slightly different than with other tools like CVS.
In DTR you cannot define labels. But you can sync to a date if you want to see an older version of a file.
If you want to define a branch (lets say for maintenance) you create a new workspace.
