Hi All,

I am an ABAP Developer , want to shift to SAP - BASIS .Can you give me sugessions for how to proceed .What details i have to know to enter into that field.

Hi Bharat,

Welcome to Basis world !!!

Through my experience you will learn

- Server architecture (Unix, IA)

- Storage architecture (SAN, NAS)

- Network basics (protocols, VLANs)

- SAN topology

- OS (Windows, Linux, Unix)

- Database (MSSQL, Oracle, ...)

- SAP WebAS (6.40 ,7.0, 7.1)

- other standalone componts (trex, content server)

...(maybe more)...

My recommendation is install/configure SAP system

by following SAP installation guides and SAP notes.

Then you'll face some of the problems and

may find the solution with help of this forum.

Finally you'll be the export of BASIS

I want to know that have you moved from ABAP to BASIS??

As I am planning to do the same. Please share your experience for

moving from ABAP to BASIS and please guide me that is it a wise

decision to go for BASIS.
