I culd see installation guide for NW2004s.
In NW2004s installation i have seen only Mi, PI, EP , BI usage types
Pls guide
XI (eXchange Infrastructure) is a part of the Usage Type PI (Process Integration).
I would also recommend that you read the SAP NetWeaver Master Guide available at the same location.
