I'm guessing you are talking about Variant Configuration, and defining dependency rules. Correct?
can you explain the problem a little more. What are you trying to do?
Cheers

yes in variant config. while creating profile (CU41):
first i entered material as : VOAC
class as : VRAC
selected characteristics
came back D/click line item- in basic data selected
dependency assignments as : VOPR
entered description as :price dependency
after that selected (Dependency Editor)screen comes :
000010 VRAC
000020 (_vcomp_=_vcomp_,vcap_=_vcap_,vpr_=_$self.vpr)
here when i put syntax system showing error saying
"error in syntax check"
note:this is another example as i have change the characteristics
hope this much info will able to find the answer
