Dear Gurus

We are updating the Kernel to 146 in Solman 7.0 in HP-UX IA64 with Oracle 10.2.0.2.

When we execute the STARTSAP this end with the following message:

Checking SOM Database

/usr/sap/SOM/SYS/exe/run/startdb: Terminating with error code 12

DB startup failed

The TRANS.LOG show the following message:

Cannot decrypt password I got from table SAPUSER: rc = 128

2EETW169 no connect possible: "DBMS = ORACLE --- dbs_ora_tnsname = 'SOM'"

Could you please help me?

Luis , Did you get any resolution on this .

I have the same issue , all the dw processes are dying

      • ERROR => Cannot decrypt password I got from table SAPUSER: rc=128

Hi Luis,

I have a similar problem, not exactly the same.

Looking for notes to solve my problem I find this,

I think it could be your case.

also please check if DB is started or not
