Hi there,

We have this one percular problem on one of our printers whenever we print from SAP

Error: Ni2Listen failed with code = -4

(03:04:11 PM) The TCP-port (515) for the SAPLPD is in use!

(03:04:11 PM) There is either another SAPLPD running or

(03:04:11 PM) the previous SAPLPD did not release

(03:04:11 PM) the TCP port.

(03:04:11 PM) Maybe a PC reboot will help

I've searched for the error code, but nothing seems to come up, now we have found a temp solution, but i would like to know what causes this? any ideas???

Hello Stephan,

I believe the OS is Windows.

TCP PORT 515 is used by windows printing service. The port is already occupied. Stop the print service on Windows server by going into Start --> Run --> Services.msc, double click on Printer spooler, click on Stop and click on Ok. Then, try to use SAPLPD. It should start.

Hope it helps.

Cheers,

Satish.

Hi Satish

Yes, thats what the problem is, but what i can't understand, is that it only happens on one of our client pc's, not on the others, and we do disable it (the user has no access to services etc), but it keeps happening?

Anyway, just thought the problem was something specific on the one pc maybe?
