Available Languages for Solution Manager

Hello Experts,

I am implementing the Business Blueprint within Solution Manager (transaction Solar01 etc.)

Our customer wants to know if the language Dutch is available and of course if it is constistent/complete. I have heared that it isn't complete and I would like to know this for sure before we install the Dutch Lanaguage.

One of the questions is for example; are the scenario's, processes and process steps (in solar 01) also translated into Dutch.

Can anybody tell me if this is provided by SAP??

Thanks

Hello Van,

the Solution Manager 4.0 is not available in Dutch language, for a list of the languages available please check note 892412, point 8!

If you would like to use e.g. the Service Desk function, you have following two possibilities:

1. You can install e.g. the Italian language for the systems, where messages should be created from by using the "Help" function. Afterwards should messages, created by customers, who have logged in to the given system in Italian, created in Italian language also in the Solution Manager system (prerequisite in this case is, that the logon language is left empty in the RFC-destination of the given satellite system). The question is only, what will you do with the texts in Italian in your Solution Manager system, as it makes no sense to logon there in Italian language. A processing of the messages e.g. in English should not be any problem by the employees working at the Service Desk.

2. You set the logon language in the RFC destination of the satellite system to e.g. English or German, then all messages will be created without any error in the defined language. A problem in this case could be, that possibly not all characters will be transported correctly, as we assume, that the text is written in English or in German, but can actually contain Italian characters, which in the other two languages do not exist. Then we could have characters, which can not be interpreted. Here you could set up rules, that e.g. all messages are to be created in English, avoiding the issue, that characters are used, which can not be interpreted.

I hope this short explanation helps you,

Cheers,

Satish.

Hello Satish,

First of all thanks for your quick reply. It is unfortunitly to hear that SSM isn't available in Dutch. Our only option is that we have to work in the English variant.

At this point we aren't working with service desk functionality, maybe in the future we will so thanks once again for the tips.

Greetings

Niels
