Project Coding mask

Dear All

We have an issue in Project Coding mask. At present it has

been maintained as K.00000000-000. (3 digit for sales order line item).

Now the sales order line items are exceeding 3 digits, we are unable to

proceed further. Hence we required to 4 digit space.

While creating sales order in background project is getting trigger.

Do we have to delete the Sales order,project, Standard WBS, standard

Network and change existing coding mask or should we create the new coding

mask.

Kindly guide us.

One option could be extending the coding mask. Change it to K.00000000-000X

hi

i tried to give X but the system gives the folloeing error

"Only numerical or alphanumerical characters may be used in each section"

Shud i delete all the projects / sales order. then will i be able to change the Coding Mask. to 4 digits

Ya, thats right. Sytem will allow to make it K.00000000-000-X, which doesnt help our cause.

I dont recommend deleting projects, first of all is it possible for u to do it?

Alternatively you can rename all project and WBS in a such way that they dont follow any coding mask. for eg they cud be like 1RAMA, 1RAMA-1 etc. Then system will alow to change the coding mask
