MDM role upload.

Hi,

How do I upload the MDM roles in repository to the portal.

Hi Rakesh,

You cannot upload the MDM role on Portal and there is no need to do so because we perform User Mapping step in the portal which at the last uses the permissions of MDM role only.

Hi Rakesh,

You don't have to upload the MDM roles to portal. In EP, you map a particular portal user to an MDM user through User Mapping. Watever role is assigned to the MDM user will be accessible in portal by the portal user mapped.

If you want to assign the same MDM role to more than one user in portal, you can create a group in portal and assign all the portal users to that group and then map that group to the MDM user.

Hi Rakesh,

MDM roles as in MDM is bit different than Roles concept as in EP.

- In MDM We have Roles and each role can have mulitiple users under them.

- In EP we have User mapping where only on eto one user can be mapped

- ie we can have one user of portal mapped with one user in MDM a portal user acnnot be mapped to an MDM role

Accessing MDM Repositoryu2019s Data and Edit It, Create New Records through Portal :

You will have to perform the User Mapping in EP to those in MDM. The above article tells you the same in detail.
