Hi everyone,
My client wants to connect their XI system with their partners (Pretty Small companies). These partners are ready to do some amount of custom develpment for us.
I have a few questions in this regard -
1) What are the key things to factor in during B2B scenarios.
2) What are the possible solutions(other that PCK? I understand solutions like CDIX are industry specific? Is there one for the steel industry? Is RNIF a generic standard that can be used any industry?
3) These partners can can expose consume webservices (which run on a oracle server.) Is it secure to access these services over the internet (I hear Webservices still has some security issues)? Do we need a dedicated VPN? Please suggest a secure solution?
4) What are issues you faced with B2B scenarios post go-live?
Thank You.
Arvind
Hi,

---> Usage of either PCK or any other Market adapters like CIDX or RNIF is based on the various scenarios need to be designed in XI.

--> The above link provided in 1st answer will clarify this. You can go for SSL configuration with XI that could provide you the transactions across internet, and no need to go for seperate VPN..

I dont know much, but this is what i would suggest..
1 & 2) Understand the business scenario/`s throughly...
==>Anticipate changes...and have an accordingly flexible design.
==> What are you trying to do, that can and will define anything custom.
3) These partners can can expose consume webservices (which run on a oracle server.) Is it secure to access these services over the internet (I hear Webservices still has some security issues)? Do we need a dedicated VPN? Please suggest a secure solution
Well you have https, certificate authentication, username token...if that can all be cracked..then internet transmission is going to go back to Stone age.
4) go live issues are again ...parts that have not been thought..of during design or a result of some
changes to the business process.
