Changing Logical System after System Copy

Former Member

We just did a system copy of our Production system onto our QA system. I created the new Logical Name (QR3) through BD54 but when I try to change it in SCC4, it will not allow me to.

Do I need to make this change through another transaction?

thanks.

In SCC4, check that system type has been changed from 'Production' to something else from the list, ie: Test or Customizing.

We did have set this to "test".

Thanks Paul.

Hi Paul,

Went back into check this again and it was set to "production"!!!! I obviously didn't save this properly. Thanks a million.

another way to change the logical system

name is to run /nbdls with the system copy option.

This will also create the logical system name

and update the scc4 entry for you. As well

as that it will change all reference to the old

logical system name to the new one.

This is especially important if your SAP system

connects to others eg CRM, BW, APO etc.
