I installed XI connectivity. As per the document XI connectivity by default installs file adapter, SOAP adapter etc. When I go to SLD and click on XI adapters it does not show any adapters. Am I missing something?

Go to the Integration Builder and click on Adapter Engine. You would be able to view the adapters here.
I presume you have installed XI 2.0
