All SAP Gurus,

We have sold certain product to a customer.

At customer's site, customer discovered some defects in the product.

Now, we need to rectify those defects.

For this, we need to take certain instruments (e.g. Welding Machine), and certain consumables (e. g. Welding Rods) to customer's site.

After completing the necessary repairs, we need to bring back the instrument (Welding Machine) but consumables (Welding Rods) will be either consumed completely or partialy.

How this scenario can be mapped?

Dear Rajan,

Consignment process is used when you send stock to a client which will not be invoiced until such time the customer uses it, i.e. the stock is at the customer site but it still belongs to you and you still have to account for it.

What Rajesh is mentioning is that there is a SAP standard process to address this business scenario and that is the repair process within the module Customer Services (Plant Maintenance).

However, you will only be able to use this standard funcitonality if CS/PM is in scope at your SAP site. If not you will need to think of a solution from within SD and MM - SD for the selling process and MM for the consumption process.

There are many ways you can approach this scenario so perhaps you should first tell us whether or not CS/PM have been or are being implemented at your site.

This scenario is a scenario for Customer Service module. To map the same without Customer Service, it is recommended to create it as service Order and incase if any Consumable is used, later it should be invoiced to the customer or adjusted in stock as consumed based on requirement.

Implication of this will be that the stock will show in unrestricted stock, though it may be in possession with engineer.

Hi

Consignment process seems to be relevant for this scenario. You can make consignment fillup for all the matrials sent and can make consignment issue for the consumed materials and create the consignment pickup for the balance material.
