Former Member

We are on MDM 5.5 Sp6 Build 5.5.62.58

Requirement is to rename the repository. In earlier versions I get the option of renaming but not here.

Any ideas how to do this?? i dont want to replicate/create duplicate.

Any help/pointer will be appreciated.

regards

Ravi Kumar

Hi Ravi,

As Jitesh has rightly menitoned, the renaming of a repository directly is not allowed. However, I think it was not even available for SP04 version.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks and Regards

It was surely there in SP5(5.5.40.83) I have used this functionality. Wonder why it has been removed in SP06

Hello Ravi,

Yes, It was there in the earlier version but in SP06, this is not avialable.

You can not rename the repository directly. there is 2 option indirectly is archiving and unarchiving machenism or duplicating the repository with name which you want.

Renaming a repository from the Console (pre SP6) had little problems - from what I recall in SP4, the underlying database schema names (and tablespaces in Oracle) would remain un-renamed. Then if you tried to create another repository with the original name - you can guess the conflict.

Yeah - unarchive or duplicate is much safer.

Hi Ravi,

There is no direct way available to rename the repository. You have to use the below options:

1. Archieve/UnArchieve

2. Duplicate

It was available in Sp05.
