Integration between PS and PP

Dear Sir,

We have a Make-To-Order scenario . To use PS in our manufacturing we have following scenario .

To map the manufacture of Machine into the PS , we have splitted it into following units :

Cutting of Plates

Febrication of Structure

Gear Assembly

Hydraulic Assembly

Final Assembly

We have BOM and routing defined in PP for the all above mentioned units .

In PS , we have created a Manufacturing WBS element and created various Network Activities corresponding to the above mentioned units .

Pl guide us that how can we have PP related information integration in PS , so that we can know about the manufacturing resources required for each unit and do the scheduling also . How can we see the progress of manufacturing inside the PS , as we will be confirming the Production Order in PP .

We request you to pl help us on the above mentioned issues pl .

Hi Mittal,

PP is not a major player in PS as far as integration is concerned. It is through Material Management that Production Planning is informed of Production Orders using special settings in the Material Master.

One another area, the PP and PM modules share Work Centers with Project System. The Work Center is needed for Capacity Planning and Planning costs. If we integrate this Work Center with HR module, we will be able to select only the people who have been assigned to the Work Center. We can specify the amount of work the individual will contribute. This forms the basis for capacity planning.
