Hi there,

Transit time (time it takes for the goods to be transported from shipping point to the customer) in the routes is not dependent on the factory calender you maintain in the route. The transit time is used by the delivery scheduling to calculate the picking, loading & GI dates from the requested delivery dates. It is the calender in the shipping point that is going to effect these dates.

For eg: You maintain the below dates in SAP:

Transit time 2 days, loading time 1 day, pick pack time 1 day. Consider the factory calender Z5 (India Mon to Fri) is assigned to your shipping point. Consider order is loaded on 14th Aug'08. Requested delivery date is 18th Aug. To deliver the goods on 18th they should leave the shipping point by 16th. Loading should begin on 15th. Pick/pack on 14th. Since 17th, 16th & 15th Aug are holidays as per Z5 Indian calender, loading can start only on 14th. But order is loaded on 14th. So consider item is available on 15th. Pick/pack is done on 18th, loading on 19th. So goods will reach customer only 21st Aug but not on 18th. So system will propose 21st as confirmed delivery date.

So it is the factory calender in shipping point not the route that it is going to effect the delivery scheduling.

Hope this clarifies your question.

Sivanand
