transportation To QA

Hello Friends,

Regarding the transportation using the file ...

we need to select the namespace which you we want to send to QA and after that tools --> Export ...This will create a tpz file in

<systemdir>/xi/repository_server/export

But normally a developer wont have access to Web AS ...how he can take it and place it in <systemdir>/xi/repository_server/import

Could any one pls tell what Developer has to do here and what is the basis guy has to do here....

Hi Satya,

In case of file transports, following are generally the roles

Developer

1. First export the interface in the source system

Export directory : C:\usr\sap\Dev\SYS\global\xi\repository_server\export

2. Once Basis does its job, import the file from the target directory.

Import Directory:

C:\usr\sap\QA\SYS\global\xi\repository_server\import

Basis:

Copy the files from the export directory of the source

system to the import directory of the target system

Here in your reply you mentined "Export directory : C:\usr\sap\Dev\SYS\global\xi\repository_server\export"

Is it default directory into which it wil be copied .

Yes, both the export and import are pre-defined directories

hey

if you go to Administration link(top right corner) of sxmb_ifr,you will find all the export and import directories(for both repository and directory) in the general information link.
