Hi,
I want to have an email adapter which should poll the email server and pull out the new messages from the server. Can i use the standard mail adapter in XI for this purpose? In that case, is it a receiver or sender. Can someone guide to have more info on this? Any blogs or links would be of great help.
Thanks,
Sandeep

Hi Sandeep,
In this case, you mail adapter acts as a SENDER. To configure you mail adapter as a sender, just check out this help link on SAP,
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/14/80243b4a66ae0ce10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
If you need to configure your receiver mail adapter so that you can send mails from XI, then check this,
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/14/80243b4a66ae0ce10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
hope this helps,
Regards,
Bhavesh

hi,
sure you can use standard <b>sender</b> e-mail adapter,
the adapter is very easy to configure:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/23/c093409c663228e10000000a1550b0/content.htm
but you can also have a look at my weblog
